Tet holiday
Lunar New Year or Tết Nguyên Đán, is Vietnam’s most significant celebration. Across Vietnam, during this time families reunite and honour their ancestors, while praying for luck, prosperity and health in the new year. The public holiday may only run for one week, but in reality, Tết celebrations last much longer. If you’re visiting Vietnam around Lunar New Year, here’s what you can expect.
Do and Don’t
Vietnam is a friendly country that is generally safe to travel to and full of wonders like Cam Ranh, Nha Trang, Saigon, Hanoi , or the Mekong Delta,... The Vietnamese are very appreciative if they see you trying to abide by their customs, and very forgiving when you get it wrong, but just in case, here is a quick list of Dos and Don’ts for traveling in Vietnam.
Best time to visit Vietnam
The best time to visit Vietnam is not an easy question to answer, as the weather varies between different regions. A lot depends on what you are looking for from your trip – if it's time on the beach on the central coast, you probably want to stick to the drier months from February to June, before the peak summer crowds arrive; if you're here to go trekking in the highlands, October to March is the optimum season.
